1 + 1 > 2 | When an International Foundation Meets “Love Without Borders”: Focusing on Technological Breakthroughs in Neurological Injury Rehabilitation
The most wonderful thing in the world is when people with the same beliefs meet on the road to hope. 『1 + 1 > 2』
At the start of the new year, as the warm winter sun shone, the Love Without Borders team met with the BRIGHT Foundation for the first time.
We came together because of love and respect for life. Over the past two days, from in-person handshakes to deep online discussions, we embarked on a warm exploration of “neurological injury community rehabilitation.”
01 First Meeting: Seeing the Power of Life at HOPE
January 6 · Gathering Under the Warm Sun
At the vibrant and healing HOPE Equestrian Rehabilitation Center, the Love Without Borders team met in person with representatives from the BRIGHT Foundation for the first time.
No formal pleasantries, just the tacit understanding of old friends.
Here, we talked not only about rehabilitation, but about human dignity and joy.
The light in everyone’s eyes was as warm as the sunlight that day.
We are convinced that, whether through the rhythm of horseback riding or companionship in the community, we are all doing the same thing:
Opening a window for life.

02 Resonance: Technology with Warmth, Barrier-Free Communication
January 7 · Watchful Connection Across Screens
The warmth of the gathering lingered, and the next day, a conversation across screens began.
TANG Kin-Chung, Director of the Love Without Borders Community Rehabilitation Project and Associate Professor of Practice in Rehabilitation Therapy Sciences at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, connected online with Matt & Leslie Palaszynski from the BRIGHT Foundation.
This time, the focus was on Love Without Borders proprietary “eye-tracking technology.”
Professor Tang shared Love Without Borders original aspiration with BRIGHT’s friends: We hope this technology is not just cold equipment, but a bridge reconnecting those neurological injury patients unable to speak or move with the world.
Matt Palaszynski introduced BRIGHT’s 25 year history, it’s world renowned Scientific Advisory Board, and it’s vision to advocate for “Care today, Cure tomorrow” for all who have suffered from a brain injury or neurological disorder.
The BRIGHT Foundation came with full sincerity to learn about this technology, deeply moved by the philosophy of “making technology serve people.”
In the exchange, both sides reached a tacit consensus:
Technology is the means; love is the purpose.
We are willing to join hands to let this hope take root in communities.

03 Love Without Borders & BRIGHT Foundation
“Love Without Borders” symbolizes boundless care; “BRIGHT” represents a bright future.
This meeting marks a wonderful beginning. We are delighted to see that, on the journey exploring new paths for neurological injury rehabilitation, we are no longer alone.
In the future, we will move forward with this positive intention to collaborate. We believe that, by uniting professional expertise and philanthropic dedication, we can light more beacons of hope for those in need.
Thank you for this encounter; the future holds promise.
